   Hi Uschi!!
   
   I wish I could address that question........the problem is that it is really unclear yet what they are doing. Sometimes I think they are just out of their minds........no one knows how this will actually apply and if it means anything at all to those of us already here. So ...............it's unclear and I'm just really not sure how it will effect some. For me............2 years? They changed that about 2 years ago and it went to 4 years ........even if you were married to French you had to wait 4 years to be able to work in FP.
   
   So now these two laws seem to be overlapping in some way............there is much confusion.........also in the article they talk about being married to Tahitian..............in FP there is no legal difference...EVERYONE in FP is French...........so that part is a bit funny......I think it makes it more confusing to just about everyone.

   Thanks, seems to be a lot of confusion on this issue.
   
   My father in law lived there in the 70's and it used to be a one day process if you knew the right people LOL.
